At last, the Communist era is over. The people of Moscow can vote for their leaders!

But who are the candidates? How are they qualified? And where do they come from?

MOSCOW CENTRAL explores such issues around a vote to represent Moscow's central area. Many of the likely organizations are there, though they can't all be properly called "political parties." There's the Mafioso. The journalist. And, yes, the Communist. Oh yes, also the eccentric.

MOSCOW CENTRAL is a poignant and stinging look at the politics of a "free election" within a society that has been aching for exactly that, but doesn't quite know what to do with it when it has it.
Clive Gordon was born in London in 1950. In 1991, he directed CHILDREN OF CHERNOBYL, which won many international awards. Since then he has made several more award-winning documentary films.
