1827. Young composer Hector Berlioz fell hopelessly in love with a young Irish actress. His passion would drive him to madness, desperation, obsession, and to compose the celebrated "Symphonie Fantastique," a desperate poem composed to impress his love. A celebrated masterpiece - Leonard Bernstein called it "the first psychedelic work in history" - la Symphonie Fantastique has itself become an obsession for many major musicians and music historians.

BERLIOZ'S TRIP tells the story behind the symphony, revealing the desperate and fantastic world of a singular composer. The movie features interviews with such musical luminaries as Bernstein, Andre Previn, Victor Pablo Perez, and many others.

Carlos Rodriguez was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1966. He studied at the Film School in Madrid, then worked as a director for Canal Plus Spain. In 2001, he established his own production company, Morgan Creativos.
